This popular CS38 5-day Tree Climbing and Aerial Rescue Operations course runs the candidate through all of the relevant theoretical and practical aspects that are required to pass NPTC Units 203.

Theoretical subjects include equipment selection and inspection, the law relating to tree climbing, tree safety inspections, knots, rescues and first aid.       CS39 – Using a Chainsaw from a Rope and Harness – 220726

      Our 3-day training course, plus 1-day NPTC Assessment, covers specialist cutting techniques for using saws up trees. CS39 – NPTC Unit 204 – is accepted by the HSE as evidence of suitable training and competence for a professional arborist who operates chainsaws and performs aerial tree-work operations.

      Prerequisites:

      NPTC Units: 201:Chainsaw maintenance and cross-cutting (CS30)

      NPTC Unit 202: Tree felling and processing (CS31)

      NPTC Units: 203: Tree climbing and Aerial Rescue Operations (CS38)

      This course is for people who work as Tree surgeons, Arborists. The course provides the knowledge and skill requirements for candidates to be assessed for City & Guilds (NPTC) regulated qualification (QCF). The course lasts 3 consecutive days followed by a 1-day independent City & Guilds NPTC assessment. Candidates are taught in both a workshop and a local woodland environment.

        Emergency First Aid at Work +F (EFAW+F) 050826

        The Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) qualification is the minimum that anyone in a working environment should achieve.

        Changes to Forestry Commission policy recommends those who work in the forestry industry should attend first aid training that covers additional topics relevant to the risk associated with their work.

        We are offering a combined EFAW+F course which covers all of the standard syllabus in EFAW and the additional areas recommended by the Forestry Commission for +F.

              NPTC Chainsaw Maint & Cross Cutting CPD Update Refresher – CS30R 130826

              Who are the CPD modules for?
              Qualified chainsaw operators who have achieved the corresponding Certificate of Competence and wish to undertake formal Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to meet the training requirements of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) and HSE INDG317 Chainsaws at Work.

              The suggested intervals for CPD refresher training are:
              • occasional users – every two to three years;
              • full-time users – every five years.

              What is covered?
              Each CPD module covers the appropriate practical skills required to meet legislation, industry technical standards and good practice.

              Candidates need to successfully complete a skills evaluation carried out by an approved City & Guilds NPTC Assessor – see link to NPTC

                You can book a course with us over the phone (01732 811162), or email us with your enquiry through this website. Select the course(s) you are interested in from the list below to check availability and book your place.

                Please note: During most of the year, the majority of these courses get booked up at least 3 months in advance, however it is always worth contacting the office to check for cancellations at short notice. Bookings are taken strictly in the order in which completed booking forms and deposits are received in the office. Every effort is made to keep this list updated, but there is no guarantee that a place will still be available when we receive your deposit. We will let you know immediately if the dates need to be revised, and will agree an alternative with you.
