CS50 Emergency Treework Operations
Dealing with emergency treeworks?
Who is it for?
We are please to be offering this Level 3 Award in Emergency Treework Operations (NPTC 305). This course is specifically aimed at people who are required to deal with a variety of damaged trees often in an emergency situation. You will need to have prior chainsaw operating experience and have units CS30 and CS31 / NPTC Units 201 and 202.
What is covered?
This course covers the underpinning knowledge required to deal with emergency treeworks, including legislative requirements, risk assessments and emergency planning. The course looks at planning emergency operations and then deals with the practical skills needed.
The course covers securing root plates of windblown trees, dealing with the tree canopy, and assisted felling techniques using fail safe methods with a rope or winch.
This course contains elements from the Level 3 Award in Assisted Fell Operations, and the Level 3 Award in Severing Uprooted Or Windblown Trees – with this course CS32 Felling & Processing Trees over 380 mm is not a pre-requisite.
NPTC Assessments are taken the next day (where possible) following the training.

- CS31 – Felling Small Trees (NPTC 202)
