CS30 Chainsaw Maintenance and Crosscutting Course
CS30 – 2-Day Lantra Course with NPTC Assessment – Units 201 & 202
CS30 – The first day of this Chainsaw Maintenance and Crosscutting Course takes place in our workshop and takes the candidate through risk assessments, health and safety legislation, personal protective equipment and chainsaw maintenance (including chain identification and sharpening). The second day is spent in a local forest and covers site safety, pre-start checks, start procedures, correct stance and grip, cross-cutting, removing a trapped saw from the log and moving and stacking produce.
Following training, the candidate is then assessed by an independently appointed NPTC Assessor and successful candidates will receive an NPTC Certificate of Competence.
The CS30 assessment is divided into 2 compulsory units.
- Unit 201 (30.1) – Maintenance of the chainsaw
- Unit 202 (30.2) – On-site preparation and basic crosscutting
Cost and Booking
Course fee: £430 pp (inc VAT)
A VAT exempt assessment is included in the cost (£135.00)
Maximum 4 people.
10% discount on net training cost is available if a client provides all 4 trainees for the course.
Climbing kits, saws and PPE are available for use by candidates who do not yet have their own equipment. Please contact the office for cost.
